Abstract

Anemia is a widespread nutritional problem worldwide with a high prevalence in Indonesia, primarily affecting adolescent girls due to low iron (Fe) intake and blood loss during menstruation; therefore, education serves as a crucial step in early prevention. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge regarding anemia among adolescent girls before and after being given education at SMK Negeri 2 Manado.  This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest design with a total of 25 respondents from grades 10 and 11. The research instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 15 questions, covering aspects of definition, causes, prevention, and Blood Supplement Tablets (TTD).  Data were analyzed descriptively using frequency distribution and percentages. The results showed that prior to the education, the majority of respondents were in the fair knowledge category (44.0%) and the good category (44.0%), with (11.0%) in the poor category. After the education, a significant increase occurred where (92.0%) of respondents achieved the good knowledge category, only (8.0%) remained in the fair category, and the poor category decreased to 0%.
